A thought-provoking piece here from Martin Robinson, helping us to think about what ‘great’ books we ought to get pupils reading and why. Which books should be ‘taught’ in depth through the subject curriculum and what else should be suggested and encouraged through the wider curriculum and at home? It also asks us to consider what we might include in a list of ‘great’ or ‘classic’ books, from which pupils might choose.
